A practical crusher liner FAQ covering material selection, crusher types, fit, wear monitoring, and the information to send when requesting a replacement part.
Crusher liners protect working surfaces inside crushing equipment and help maintain the intended crushing chamber geometry. The right choice depends on the crusher type, feed material, and balance between impact and abrasion.
High-manganese steel in Mn13 or Mn18 is suited to impact-resistant applications, including primary crushing of hard, abrasive materials such as granite and basalt. High-chromium cast iron in Cr26 or Cr28 is intended for severe abrasion, with applications including fine or tertiary crushing and materials such as quartz and iron ore. Bimetal composite liners combine a tough manganese steel substrate with a hard chromium iron working surface when both impact and abrasion need to be addressed.
The range covers cone crushers, jaw crushers, and hammer crushers. Jaw crusher solutions include fixed and movable jaw plates and cheek plates, with tooth profiles and section designs selected for the application. Cone crusher liners protect mantle and concave surfaces, while hammer crusher solutions include impact-resistant components, wear-resistant grates, and quick-change system compatibility.
Send the crusher make and model, the liner position, drawings or dimensional information, and the required quantity. Liners are CNC machined for dimensional accuracy and can be checked against OEM specifications. For a jaw crusher, identify whether the part is a fixed jaw plate, movable jaw plate, or cheek plate. For a cone crusher, identify the mantle or concave position.
Use regular thickness measurements, inspect the wear pattern, maintain the intended crusher settings, and keep feed distribution correct. These checks help the operator identify uneven wear and plan replacement according to the operating schedule. Before requesting a replacement, collect recent thickness readings, photographs of the worn surface, crusher details, and the original liner dimensions.
